Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision

To nurture a generation of knowledgeable, principled, and confident Muslims who are firmly grounded in their faith, excel in knowledge and character, think with clarity and wisdom, and positively contribute to their families, communities, society, and the wider world.

We aspire to raise students who understand their purpose as servants of Allah, recognize the responsibilities entrusted to them, and are equipped to navigate the modern world without losing their Islamic identity, values or direction.

Our Mission

Tokyo IQRA International School provides a holistic education in which faith, knowledge, character, and academic excellence develop together.

Our mission is to nurture students intellectually, spiritually, morally, socially, and physically through an educational environment rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, while providing them with the academic knowledge, languages, skills, and competencies necessary to flourish in contemporary society.

We seek to:

  1. cultivate a strong relationship with Allah and an understanding of the purpose of life;
  2. develop sound Islamic knowledge, worship, character, and conduct;
  3. nurture a coherent Islamic worldview through which students learn to understand themselves, society, and the world around them;
  4. provide high-quality academic education that develops curiosity, reasoning, creativity, problem-solving, and lifelong learning;
  5. connect revelation and reason, rather than presenting Islamic and academic knowledge as two separate worlds;
  6. strengthen students’ connection with the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the intellectual and moral heritage of Islam;
  7. develop confidence in Muslim identity together with respect, wisdom, and constructive engagement with people of different backgrounds;
  8. equip students to understand contemporary ideas, challenges, and opportunities with knowledge, balance, and critical awareness;
  9. nurture discipline, responsibility, resilience, compassion, leadership, and service;
  10. enable students to participate positively and responsibly in Japanese society while maintaining their Islamic principles and identity;
  11. recognize parents as essential partners in Tarbiyah and foster strong relationships among the school, home, and the wider Muslim community.

At IQRA, Islamic education is therefore not limited to Islamic Studies or Qur’an lessons. Islamic values and worldview should shape the school’s atmosphere, relationships among people, approaches to knowledge, expectations of character, and the way students learn to understand their responsibilities.

Our goal is not simply to prepare students for examinations or the next stage of education. We seek, by the permission of Allah, to help form young Muslims who know what they believe, understand why they believe it, strive to live by it, continue seeking beneficial knowledge, and use what Allah has given them in ways that benefit others.
